Stand & Deliver - starting

8 November 2024

As always seems to be the case, I’ve got a few ideas racing around in my head and I’m trying to grasp onto them, hoping this initial playtime with clay will help to clarify and solidify some areas to explore further, so have begun by making some small very rough quick clay maquettes;

  1. clay rolled out onto new corrugated card plaster batt

  2. corrugated card textured clay, ripped and reassembled

  3. extruded hollow tube, teased out so more tree trunk shape

  4. ripped clay applied to tree form to represent peeling bark as seen on the Tibetan Cherry tree on campus

  5. ribbon texture applied to a test tile
