Crabapples or Quince?

Bit of a misty October morning today, jumper weather still, they say the sun will be out this afternoon. Off to the next village to collect the weekend newspaper and do a few jobs - saw this small shrub-like tree on the side of the road, pulled over and took some photos. I think it was the bright gold yellow that caught my attention, then the round sculptural balls hanging in groups - just shouting to be admired - striking. My mind is already racing trying to visualise how this could work as a piece of ceramic sculpture, may have to hit my sketchbook later…
