…In equal parts - dread and excitement!

The subject of glazes takes me right back to chemistry classes at school - not good! It’s probably just a mental block I need to overcome. However, the subject of oxides and stains to colour clay had completely the opposite reaction, this makes me very excited with the endless possibilities…..

This afternoon using the textured test tiles from a few weeks ago, we applied various oxides onto a tile with a white and a transparent glaze on 4 separate tiles to be fired to earthenware temperature, and 4 for a stoneware firing. We will see the results soon.
